Display Energy Certificates (Subscribe)
Display Energy Certificates are mandatory as part of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) every owner of a public building will need to enlist an Energy Assessor to produce an Asset Rating and Display Energy Certificate.
Display Energy Certificate also known as DEC are required to be issued for all properties in the owned or leased by local or central government sector which are for sale, or subject to let.
Public Buildings Energy Assessment is now mandatory as part of the EU directive for energy efficiency of public buildings.

The energy certificate is required to be renewed annually to comply with regulations. The Advisory Report lists recommendations and offers advice about energy saving measures which are considered necessary to improve energy efficiency, however the recommended measures are considered as advisory only, there is currently no mandatory requirement to comply with improvements. Local Government buildings however, are required to promote energy efficiency measures as part of central Government legislation and recommendations. |
DEC Assessors are required to log energy consumption data of buildings and metering information to assist in the compilation of the certificate as part of the assessment of the building. The assessor will request that this information be provided by the facilities management, as part of the survey.
